Anger

People facing mirrors representing anger and reflection

Have you ever wondered why anger seems to hurt you more than the person you’re angry with?

Have you ever noticed…

that anger often arrives long before understanding does?

Someone says one sentence…

and suddenly your heart races.

Your muscles tighten.

Your thoughts begin gathering evidence.

In that moment, it feels as though the other person created your anger.

But did they?

Or did they simply reveal something that was already waiting to be seen?

Perhaps anger is not the enemy we believe it to be.

Perhaps it is a messenger.

Not asking us to attack…

but asking us to pay attention.

Sometimes anger protects what we love.

Sometimes it exposes where our boundaries have been ignored.

Sometimes it reveals an injustice that needs to be confronted.

But sometimes…

it points toward an old wound that never truly healed.

The mistake is not feeling anger.

The mistake is believing anger has already told us the whole story.

Because beneath anger…

there is often fear.

Grief.

Disappointment.

Shame.

Or the quiet feeling that we have not been seen, heard, or understood.

If we react too quickly…

anger becomes destruction.

If we bury it…

it becomes bitterness.

But if we become curious…

anger can become understanding.

And understanding can become wisdom.

Perhaps the question is not…

“How do I get rid of my anger?”

Perhaps the better question is…

“What is my anger trying to reveal that I have not yet been willing to see?”

Everything we experience leaves something behind.

The real question is…

What is your anger cultivating in you
